Lar doce e desarrumado lar

+ Eu sei que todas nós, eu inclusivé, gostamos muito daquelas fotografias de casas em palacetes antigos todas decoradas de branco, até mesmo os soalhos. Mas o que é que acontece quando o teu namorado te aparece com as jantes da primeira mota que comprou prontas a colocar na parede da sala?
+ Vamos ser sinceras, meninas. Nenhuma de nós vai morar sozinha num palacete século XVIII tão cedo, nem ter um armário coordenado por cores cheio de Louis Vittons e casacos Chanel.
+ Contudo, estará tudo perdido?

+ I know all of us, me included, drull over those pictures of old houses decorated in white tones, and that means the wood floors also. But what happens when your boyfriend shows up with his old motorcycle rims ready to put up on your white perfect wall?

Jaime Hayón Spanish artist-designer Jaime Hayon was born in Madrid in 1974. As a teenager, he submerged himself in skateboard culture and graffiti art, the foundation of the detailed, bold-yet-whimsical imagery so imminent in his work today. After studying industrial design in Madrid and Paris he joined Fabrica in 1997, the Benetton-funded design and communication academy, working closely with the legendary image-maker and agitator Oliverio Toscani. In a short time he was promoted from student to head of their Design Department, where he oversaw projects ranging from shop, restaurant and exhibition conception and design to graphics. Eight years later, Jaime broke out on his own, first with collections of designer toys, ceramics and furniture, followed by interior design and installation. His singular vision was first fully exposed in ‘Mediterranean Digital Baroque’ at London’s David Gill Gallery, an exciting mise en scène, largely executed in ceramic, followed by ‘Mon Cirque’, which traveled to Frankfurt, Barcelona, Paris and Kuala Lumpur. These collections put Jaime at the forefront a new wave of creators that blurred the lines between art, decoration and design and a renaissance in finely-crafted, intricate objects within the context of contemporary design culture.

No more boring Sundays

Sooishi has been one of my favorite food blogs for a while now. I just adore how difficult and amazingly professional her posts look, like you'd have to be somekind of wood enchanted creature to be able to pull it off. But you don't. Still, if this was only a food blog, I probably wouldn't be posting about it.
Now, being a Sunday hater, I take on every little tip to make through the last day of my weekend with least damage possible. That's where Sooishi becomes genious: No More Boring Sundays is the reaction of the author to the ghost Sundays in Lausanne, and just, how beautiful is this?
I really want my own "ceiling to floor" white decorated apartment to fill with my old grandma looking teapots and perfect looking cakes and friends.
